SERVICES

EVALUATIONS

Each client will begin with an eighty minute evaluation and assessment session. During this session we will talk about your training history, previous injuries and medical conditions, current training or workout program, and your goals and expectations. This is your chance to tell me more about yourself and nail down some attainable goals. We’ll discuss any issues or challenges you may have and make a plan for where to start for the assessment. Following this brief conversation, I will take you through a variety of functional movements that will allow me to identify dysfunction and limitations in your body mechanics. From here the assessment will become more specific for the individual client to determine the components that are affecting your movements and how best to address them. By the end of this session I will give you a corrective exercise program to follow until our next appointment.

PERFORMANCE TRAINING

Once your evaluation is complete we will determine the most appropriate training program that will push you to achieve your goals. We will schedule one hour sessions and meet at your home, or a location of your choice, for assessment, one-on-one functional training, and adjustment of home corrective exercise program. Each session I will guide you through exercises and movement patterns that will teach you the optimal way in which to move your body. I will challenge your strength, balance, coordination, and focus with creative, sport specific sessions that will be directly reflected in your home corrective exercise program. We will address any issues you’re having with the exercises or with your training outside of our program. I encourage my clients to ask questions and share with me all your athletic activities so that I can make sure my training program complements what drives you.

BODYWORK

It is important to maintain optimum mobility for your body in order to maximize the benefits from your workouts and progress in your sport. With training, athletes can develop scar tissue and myofascial restrictions that can limit their progress and increase the risk for injury. It is my goal to help keep your body balanced with the addition of targeted BodyWork so that you can continue to push your limits during workouts.

I use a variety of hand-ons techniques to improve myofascial mobility and facilitate better body mechanics. One of these techniques is Myofascial Decompression, or MFD, which is designed to increase connective tissue mobility via movement pattern reeducation. The myofascial decompression approach is the only one that works on lifting adhesions with movement instead of compressing on tissues. This allows for improvement in your sports-specific movements through increased mobility. Although this technique has many benefits it is not suitable or necessary for everyone and its use will be determined on an individual basis.
